About The Conference

The issue of uneven regional development has emerged as a major challenge, with important economic and political implications. In view of the tensions arising from such disparities across regions, it is now an urgent necessity to better understand the factors underlying these inter-regional disparities or inter-state variations in the rates and structure of growth and consider how best these can be addressed.

Against this backdrop, the Institute for Human Development (IHD) is organizing a three-day national conference during 13-15 May 2019 at India International Centre Seminar Room 1&2, Kamala Devi Complex), with support from the Fifteenth Finance Commission, Niti Ayog and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). A number of well known scholars and experts are participating and contributing to the conference.
