Shantanu Kant Dubey has been associated with the institute since February 2017 and currently is involved in two projects: Job Search and Hiring Practices in the Indian Urban Labour Market, and Health, Nutrition, and Sanitation Integration among Self Help Groups in Bihar.

While perusing his master’s degree he worked with Social Science and Economic Research (S.S.E.R.) and Centre for Adivasi Research and Development (C.A.R.D.). This involved surveying Adivasi settlements in Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh and aimed to understand conditions of life and work of Adivasis in India while specifically undertaking food security, employment, indebtedness and land relations. His master’s dissertation aimed at understanding the evolution of land relations in the state of Bihar. The said exploratory study incorporated an in-depth study of archives and literature sources and the resultant thesis was titled as, Political Economy of Bihar: Approaching Land through the Agrarian Question in Bihar. His broader areas of interest include addressing questions concerning public policy processes, agrarian political economy, law and legality, understanding the everyday labour market, and critical theory.
