Food Security Atlases

On behalf of the World Food Programme, the Institute prepared State Atlases on rural Food Security for 8 states, with comprehensive analysis at district/regional levels. The major objective was to support the preparation of the next Country Programme of WFP and identify districts for intervention. The food insecurity analysis and atlases will also help in convergence of geographical targeting of complementary programmes of WFPs partners such as UNICEF, and will assist in furthering an integrated UN agency approach for achieving food security in India within the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) framework. Moreover, the atlases are expected to assist government and policy makers to target interventions more efficiently.
