Symposium on, MAKING CITIES SAFE AND INCLUSIVE PERSPECTIVES FROM SOUTH ASIA; 21 NOVEMBER 2015, NEW DELHI


The symposium on “Making Cities Safe and Inclusive: Perspectives from South Asia” jointly organised by Institute for Human Development (IHD) & IRDC on 21st November 2015 at the India Islamic Centre, Lodi Road brought together perspectives and insights from South Asian cities on the contemporary nature of urbanisation, the questions of inequality, exclusion, governance, conflict and violence. During this symposium six research teams, from Sri Lanka, Pakistan and four from India, pursuing research under Safe and Inclusive Cities program presented their research findings that broadly focussed on urban issues including gender, inequality and social exclusion, displacement and planning and governance and their links to urban violence.



Programme
