Dr (Ms) SUDHA K SHROTRIA

Dr Shrotria’s expertise is in administration and legal matters. She has an LLM from the University of London, UK and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from l’IIAP, Paris, France (presently, l’Ecole Nationale d’Administration). She is a Member of the Personnel Committee and the Chairperson of the Project Monitoring Committee of IHD. Prior to joining IHD, Dr Shrotria was Joint Secretary to Government of India. Posted in different ministries of the Central Government she contributed immensely to policy formulation, programme implementation, project management, review and revision of laws, personnel & financial management. She represented the country as a member of the Indian delegation to the Governing Council Sessions of UNEP, SACEP, ICIMOD.

Dr Shrotria has published several papers on legal and policy issues relating to environment, human rights and social justice. She is presently engaged in policy issues relating to climate change. She has done several consultancy assignments with international organizations. As a Commonwealth Secretariat consultant, she drafted the Environmental Laws for Seychelles. She is a resource person/guest faculty for various senior level training programmes conducted by international and national organizations including the National Judicial Academy (NJA), Bhopal; National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics, Faridabad; National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi.
