Chaitanya Khandelwal is an associate fellow at the Institute for Human Development (IHD). Her doctoral research focuses on women’s labour in artisanal and craft-based sectors, examining production relations, work processes, social relations, and everyday negotiations of labour, wage and skill. Her work engages with questions of labour, gender, education and skill, and regional development.  She has extensive experience in field-based research, including documentation, qualitative data collection, and analysis. Her work involves research design, report writing, and policy-oriented documentation, with a strong emphasis on translating field insights into rigorous analytical outputs. She has also been engaged in research training and academic writing.
