Research cum Communication Associate
Aakash is a Research and Communication Associate at the Institute for Human Development (IHD), New Delhi. He holds a Master’s degree in Demography and Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, where he received the Silver Medal and Best Dissertation award, and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
His work focuses on employment and labour markets, population dynamics, social sector development, tribal studies, and the future of work, with an emphasis on quantitative analysis and policy communication. At IHD, he contributes to the India Employment Report through secondary data analysis, research coordination, and chapter preparation. He is also involved in ICSSR-supported studies on Continuum of Care in Jharkhand and Odisha and Job Search Dynamics in Delhi and Ranchi, and has contributed to the NITI Aayog-supported Future of Work project. He has additionally served as chapter writer and coordinator for the District Gazetteers Revision Project covering districts of Bihar.
Previously, he worked as a Communications Consultant with UNDP India, collaborating with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs on research, documentation, and coordination related to tribal development. He has also contributed to research with the Ministry of Culture and has supported the organisation of major academic events, including the IASSI Annual Conference. His work combines population research with policy communication and dissemination.
