Dr. Abhijit Ghosh is an economist specialising in development economics, education, labour markets, public policy, and applied econometrics. He is currently Assistant Professor of Economics at Mahatma Gandhi College and a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Human Development (IHD), New Delhi.
Previously, Dr. Ghosh served as Assistant Professor of Economics at the A. N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies (ANSISS), Patna, where he was actively engaged in teaching, research, and policy-oriented academic work. He was also a Mahalanobis Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy and Public Finance (CEPPF), Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI), Patna.

His research agenda places particular emphasis on the role of the state, institutions, and governance structures in shaping human development outcomes. He is the co-author of two books, including Dynamics of Human Development: A Partial Mobility Perspective (Routledge). He has published around 35 research papers in reputed national and international journals.

Dr. Ghosh is actively involved in collaborative research projects, academic seminars, and capacity-building programmes, and regularly contributes to policy-oriented discussions. His work seeks to bridge rigorous academic research and evidence-based policymaking, with a strong commitment to advancing inclusive and equitable development.
