Dev Nathan, an economist, works across social science disciplines. His current main areas of research are: the role of knowledge in economic and social inequality, globalization, gender relations in history, and development issues of indigenous peoples. Some recent books are: Knowledge and Global Inequality Since 1800; Reverse Subsides in Global Monopsony Capitalism (co-author), and Witch Hunts: Culture, Patriarchy and Structural Transformation (co-author). He is an editor of the Cambridge University Press series on Development Trajectories in Global Value Chains.
